This is a little experiment where we try to compile some cool music events to attend in Detroit. There are always more, so if you have some to recommend, reach out to us!
Descriptions come from the events themselves, maybe next time we’ll do our own and not try this last minute!

Detroit composer, De’Sean Jones, is a world renowned Billboard Charting recording artist, 2x Grammy nominated and 3x Stellar Award winning arranger. Over the course of Jones’ 20+ year career, he has been afforded opportunities to write, produce, and tour the world extensively, collaborating with numerous music icons across a wide variety of genres. A protege of techno pioneer, “Mad” Mike Banks (Underground Resistance), and the late great trumpet legend, Marcus Belgrave, De’Sean Jones aspires to continue to uphold the legacy of progressing music forward while being an ambassador for the rich musical history of Detroit.
De’Sean’s current project, Urban Art Orchestra, focuses on a larger composition style that involves a 22 piece ensemble. His orchestra features live strings, harp, horns, a full rhythm section, percussion, and vocals. Urban Art Orchestra is a celebration of music from the colorful mind of composer De’Sean Jones.

Snack Time Detroit w/ Garrett David & Nuntheless
Saturday, April 30th, 9pm-2am at TV Lounge / $10 / 21+
Garrett David is our favorite Chicago DJ, hands down. Since moving to Chicago our host Gino has been blown away by several of Garrett’s sets. He is a resident of one of the most famous weekly parties in the game, Queen at Smart Bar alongside OG’s Derrick Carter and Michael Serafini. He is an A&R/buyer at the legendary Gramapahone records and his production catalog is extensive. His releases are deep and soulful with a bounce to keep dance floors busy. He’s got two forthcoming records, one on spanish label MATE and a debut release on his own label, Global Swing. From production to mixing and selecting, His dedication to craft is starkly apparent and his momentum as an artist is growing by the day.Nuntheless is on opening duty, a rising talent among producers and DJs in Detroit. A trained musician and seasoned beat maker, Nuntheless puts out a wide range of music from hip-hop and house to ambient soundscapes for Pure Michigan. His music is often grounded in heavy, danceable backbeats, but his affinity for syncopation and evocative melodies keeps the sound fresh and unpredictable. His skill as a producer along with his character draw people in to want to support and be part of his projects. Last but not least, we got Chef Fresh on the grill, a hometown chef with big flavors.
