Chasey The Illest has been on a roll since releasing his latest project Nightmare Park earlier this year. On Monday, Chasey dropped a long-awaited new visual for his track “Mental Breakdown (Interlude),” a piece that manifests as more of a short film than a conventional music video.
With the help of Super Official Filmz, the Uncle P – produced track is brought to life through Chasey’s vision of a dangerous opportunity gone wrong, taking the story and giving it to audiences through a narrative that adds gravity and and significance to the thought-provoking lyrics that he speaks. While Chasey himself only appears briefly in the video, his energy is felt through his decisions as a co-director, and this project presented him with an opportunity to flex new creative muscles and experiment with new approaches to content creation, widening his range of output and inspiring his approach for what might come next.
If you wait until the end, there might even be some surprises for you. Check out the new video below!
I think the video represents the song perfectly. In my opinion, Chasey the Illest has done a good job here.
Isn’t that how we all panic through life? Even when we are in the right place.
Does life in the hood always have to be portrayed in this light?
