THRG001, the inaugural event from Techno and House Research Group, was an experiment in whether a group of music enthusiasts and creators could take their shared loved for sharing music and bring it from the chat room to the dance floor. While their Youtube channel has been steady building it’s fanbase, by far their biggest success to date has been successfully throwing a party at one of Detroit’s best venues for dance music, where the only premise is the fact that good music and rare finds will be played to a crowd that appreciates dance music.

With THRG002, the group hopes to build and develop the momentum that gave them a night to remember. The lineup will feature a brand new live techno set from ke thu, as well as a live set from a new name in the scene, bankuit. Check out a short description below:

nuntheless‘ latest exploration comes in the form of bankuit, a project inspired by the artist’s love and respect for house and techno music. This new moniker presents an opportunity for him to share more upbeat, danceable tracks infused with his live musicality to new audiences in new environments, from the stage to the club and beyond. His roots in R&B bring emotive, amorous melodies into the mix, coupled with a driving sense of rhythm that keeps listeners engaged through various progressions in mood and aesthetic. Fans of nuntheless will recognize certain aspects of the bankuit sound, but in a new atmosphere that brings new life to his past successes in a variety of genres. THRG will be one of his first shows since he started the project, and will certainly be one of his most well-developed, as he is joined by other live instrumentalists and a vocalist. In his own words, “(the set) will be very interactive, with a visceral energy that will be fun to watch and dance to.”

All in all, the show will be an exciting example of how mutual interest and collective effort can build into something more, with a little inspiration from within and a lot of support from friends and fans alike.
