JMSN has been slowly churning out music this year, previously releasing “So Badly” in late January. But what he hasn’t offered in quantity, his artistry more than makes for it as it builds anticipation for his next release.
“Talk Is Cheap” is as smooth as the silk he dons on the track cover art. The music alone is enough to take you on a funkadelic trip, with the experienced being heighten with the G-funk portamento (also known as the Gangsta lead) that only last 24 seconds. However, by the time the lead has faded, you become entrapped in a trance that makes you vulnerable.
JMSN vocals fuse perfectly with multi-layered melodies, refusing to be overpowered by the melodic notes as he laments how empty words are to him at this point. From start to finish, the song levitates you to high that brutally crashes down once the track ends. Thankfully, you could put the track on repeat.
While “Talk Is Cheap” is one of his strongest releases to this date, the Detroit artist has been churning out quality music for years, and it seems now he’s primed for the recognition a man with his talents has always strive for.
