Lupita Nyong'o

Last night was the 90th Annual Academy Awards and the stars came out in full-on fashion. Most notable on the red carpet was the cast of the hit movie Black Panther, where Queen Lupita Nyong’o wore a custom Versace gown. She captioned a photo of herself wearing the dress on instagram, “Vibranium by Versace” and carried out the Wakanda theme with her hair, inspired by Amasunzu hairstyles from Rwanda. Later, at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, she wore a black halter gown by Armani. Lupita’s Black Panther co-stars Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Oscar nominee for Get Out, David Kaluuya were also in attendance. Chadwick wore a suit by Givenchy and Danai looked stunning in Gabriela Hearst. Another co-star Angela Bassett wore a multi-colored pants suit to the Vanity Fair party by Teresa Helbig.

Tiffany Haddish

On the red carpet, comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish wore a traditional gown inspired by her Father’s roots in Eritrea were he lived until his recent passing. However, to present the Oscar for animated and live action short films, she came out in an Alexander McQueen dress she wore two times previously to host SNL, as well as to the “Girls Trip” movie premiere. The comedian joked later that she can wear something many times as she wants “as long as I febreze it.” Attending the Vanity Fair party later that night, Tiffany wore a vibrant yellow gown by Brandon Maxwell.

Actress Zendaya Coleman, who’s always one to watch on the red carpet wore a gown by Giam Battista Valli following another glamorous gown by Michael Kors for the after-party. Other leading ladies on our radar were last year’s Oscar winner Viola Davis, looking pretty in pink wearing Michael Kors, while Taraji P. Henson wore a custom made gown by Vera Wang that showed off her toned figure.
