2017 has been a year that we will all remember. Throughout the trials and tribulations of the world, music has been the only constant in our lives this year. While seasoned musicians have catapulted onto the mainstream charts, a plethora of gems have been left behind in their wake.
Over the last 12 months we have been introduced to a wide variety of audio dope from unsigned and undermined talented, that have infiltrated all of our go-to playlists and set our ears on fire. We’re talking about acts such as the artistically active rap collective Brockhampton and the self-reflecting vocalists like Lil Peep and 070 Shake, that have turned us onto a whole new side of underground rap and soul music, along with the subgenres within. International artists brought in asinine stats such as UK artist, IAMMDDB, or Chinese rap star, Rich Chigga. Lyrical roadrunners like Wifisfuneral and J.I.D, and even XXL freshmen such as Kamaiyah and Amine flew under the radar. These are the soundwaves from rising artists throughout the year that made social and personal impacts on our lives, and can never be denied. The year 2017 has brought more great music than we could ever ask.
Although it seems as if these tracks were swept under the rug, we over at EMCEE Network, have made it our mission to shed light onto these potential classics and underground hits and have compiled our choices for 2017’s 30 most slept tracks below:
