“You won’t hear anything else like this out right now.” — My Hip Hop Life
“What resulted is this dreamy collaboration, woozy and lax in its production — a ‘vacation’ for the ears, per se.” — Singersroom
About a week ago, King Visionary dropped a video game inspired production called, “Never Gon Play.” On the track, he sings about remaining the same—regardless of how much riches he earns. Before now, he released a song through Singersroom titled, “Vacation” produced by OVO Sound’s experimental producer Eric Dingus. The soundscape helped the 26-year-old artist to take a break from it all; go on a vacation.
Here’s a word from King Visionary about the new record:
“To make a long story short, Never Gon Play is me deciding to take on (music) industry politics. Whether I like it or not or no matter how wack I may think the game may be, I am still choosing to participate. Wanted to take a look at that contradiction. Is it possible to play the game without losing my principles. By adding bits of my personal story, I also took a look at the politics that have to be managed on a daily basis. How it kind of feels like a video game that I forced to play. Obviously I don’t want to, but the music is my place to rebel and have fun with it. Hopefully that message comes across. This particular song isn’t planned to go on a particular project, but another introspective banger that can show potential fans my versatility. Another avenue for you to get familiar with my unique sound.”
The Detroit-native crooner is an eclectic addition to the current landscape of music. Stream the latest track “Never Gon Play” by the artist below. It is produced by Azoth and TOONORTH.
