About Esparo:
Esparo, born in Queens, New York, is a rapper-songwriter with an affinity to create mainstream music. As a teenager, he moved to Frederick, Maryland. During high school, he relocated to Long Beach, California, where he played football. He was a wide receiver for the Jackrabbits, a Long Beach Polytechnic High School team that was the focus of “4th and Forever,” a reality television show on Current TV based on the school’s excellent football program. Unfortunately, as a result of a shoulder injury, he didn’t return to the team.
Concurrently, he participated in a Freestyle Friday at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, which helped him to attain clout in his newfound city.
Subsequently, in 2013, he released his debut mixtape called, “BarmitzFortune.” A part two of the project—BarmitzFortune 2—came out the following year, featuring local artists he frequently collaborated with, to hone in on his skills. In 2014, he released another mixtape titled, “Lucky 7.” Its illustrated cover art took inspiration from Tyrann Mathieu of the Arizona Cardinals.
