This year’s Fall/Winter 2018 NYFW has been the talk. They continue to show more diversity in models and designers than any other fashion week before it. This season 60 designers of color will be featuring their collections on the runway and they have more models of color than any other fashion week in the industry.
One of the designers who will be putting on shows this season include the bad gal herself Rihanna showing her newest collection for Fenty Puma. So far her Puma collaboration has been a hit and fashion critics are looking forward to seeing what she has in store next. She’s also getting ready to launch her new makeup line Fenty Beauty on September 8th with Sephora.

Alexander Wang, whose designs have been seen on Former First Lady Michelle Obama, will also have a show of his own during NYFW. Wang loves to feature models of color in his shows–and he’s known for having one of the most popular shows of the week. He’s expected to have plenty of celebrities in attendance.
Naeem Khan had a very successful show during February’s NYFW that featured a recording of a Maya Angelou poem called; “Human Family.” Khan is one of the most outspoken designers in the business–especially when it comes to politics. After last season the fashion industry is ready to see another controversial show from Naeem that isn’t just about fashion but a strong message.

Another designers showing their fall 2018 collections are Prabal Gurung who, just like Naeem Khan, puts a political message in his shows. His “The future is female”, “I am an immigrant” and “We will not be silenced” T-shirts were a big hit last season. He too had a great show in February and everyone is curious to see what’s next at his show on Sunday.
Tracy Reese, Yuna Yang, R13, Sachin & Babi, Sandy Liang, Talisha White, PH5 and many others will put on runway shows this coming fashion week.
