Tell us about your story, where you came from, how you grew up.
I grew up in Richmond, VA, both parents from the country side of VA but they raised my sister and I in the city. Our half brother is about 10 years apart from my sister and I. We moved around a good amount during my childhood, went from the projects, different apartments, and then to the suburbs when I started 5th grade. Throughout these phases my parents relationship weakened and they divorced and my dad remarried. Really found myself and found out so much more about life and how you’re supposed to live in my later years around 15, 16 years old.
You seem like a really happy guy in general, what’s your secret?
Thank you! My secret to being happy is my ability to actually really feel, understand, and have compassion for every single human being and any kind of being that’s alive or not. I take the time to listen and try my best to put myself in their shoes and understand enough to give the best advice I can and hope I make a change in their life.
How did you find yourself on a musical path?
I found myself on this musical path the summer after my senior year of high-school.
What are your thoughts on the music scene in the RVA?
I feel the music scene in RVA as one of the most slept on/ underrated cities for music, hip hop in particular. They’re a lot of different types of new artists bending genres in RVA not being noticed solely because of the crab in bucket mentality of the city’s rap culture.
How would you describe your sound to new fans?
I would describe my sound as contemporary but versatile.
How do you separate yourself from other artists in the game?
I would say I separate myself from others in the game by having my lyrics correspond back to my life in the most pure way, and actually have an impact on the culture in a positive manner.
If you could collaborate with anyone in 2018, who would it be and why?
I would either collaborate with Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, or Wale because they’re all bosses I look up to. They all have been nonstop grinding since their start and that’s very motivating. Also they’re all top tier of my favorite artists.
What has been a stand out moment in your journey thus far?
A few big stand out moments for me in this journey was having Adam22 like a few of our songs on SoundCloud after doing his stream. And the next one would have to be traveling 18 hours to Austin, TX by myself for SXSW, it was definitely something I needed experience in life.
What is next for you? Tell us about any projects you are currently working on.
My group and I are currently working on a group side project as well as solo projects. As well as trying to get more visuals done and more exposure for the team.
What are the main inspirations for the music you make?
The main inspiration for me making music is my joy, music is therapy for me and being blessed with talent to work on the other side has created an euphoric connection with the art.
Who are your favorite producers in the game?
A few of my favorite producers in the game are SnowGod of FGE, Cashmoney AP, Harry fraud, Metro of course, etc. the list would be too long to make.
What have you learned from your journey as an artist?
I learned early that everyone just wants to provide for their family and not have to worry about anything, and learning that immediately stopped the hate I had for anybody else in this industry and gave me the focus I needed to start my own legacy and empire.
Is there a particular song that never fails to move you emotionally?
I have too many songs that never fail to hit me emotionally, but a few are Computer Love, the second We Are The World, Survival Tactics, Reborn, Cudi Montage etc.
Do you have any other dreams and goals in life that go beyond music?
I would love to be a public figure that helps change the world as we know it for the better in whatever I do business wise. But I’d also love to be an actor.
Last question, what is one message you want to send your fans?
One message I’m going to leave for my fans is to love everyone, try to understand instead of judge, enjoy the little things in life, and no matter what you do keep the peace while doing it.
