The 2018 Met Gala took place last night in New York, and this year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination.” A-list stars and some of the fashion industry’s top designers came out in full religious-themed looks that were over the top.

Rihanna, who’s had some of the most iconic looks in Met Gala history, wore a Pope-inspired mini dress by John Galliano. To top it off she wore a Bishop headpiece that was designed by Stephen Jones. Another stunner on the red carpet was Cardi B, who made her very first Met Gala appearance walking with designer Jeremy Scott, creative director for Moschino. The two matched in outfits Scott designed. Black-ish and Grown-ish star, Yara Shahidi also made her first Met appearance looking like a heavenly princess in a mid-length dress by Chanel.

Met Gala veteran Jennifer Lopez came with boyfriend A-Rod, and never disappoints on the red carpet. She wore a stunning gown with a long feather train by Balmain. The custom-made gown also showed off a bright colored cross that went perfect with the night’s theme.

Other stars who walked the red carpet last night included Model Ashley Graham who wore a curve hugging gold gown by Prabal Gurung; Solange, who’s look was edgy and bold in Iris Van Herpen Couture, and the King of Wakanda, Chadwick Boseman wore a white custom designed tuxedo by Versace accented with gold crosses and a matching cape. Boseman’s Black Panther co-stars Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, and Letitia Wright also attended the star-studded event. Michael wore a suit by OffWhite, Daniel looked dapper in Prada and Leitita wore a custom gown by Coach.

The Kardashian/Jenner ladies also made notable appearances on the red carpet. Kim came to the Gala without Kanye this time, draped in an all-gold gown made by Versace; while Kylie walked the red carpet with baby daddy Travis Scott wearing Alexander Wang. Mama Jenner had a dress designed by Tommy Hilfiger for the evening, while Kendall walked the red carpet on the arm of Virgil Abloh wearing a sleek all-white pant and top combination designed by the Off-White Creative Director himself.
